Course Overview
Emphasis
will be on the proper use, care, and function of photographic equipment and
picture taking techniques. Students will learn the operations of Canon and
Nikon digital slr cameras and digital manipulation in Adobe Photoshop.
Projects include:
1 picture
using Perspective (Birds eye or Bugs eye)
1 picture
using Shutter Speed (Motion Blur, Stop Motion, or Panning)
1 picture
using Aperture (High or low Depth of Field)
1 picture
using Levels
1 picture
using Curves
Shadows
Reflections
Landscape
Architecture
Texture
Close Up
Still
Life
Multiple
Image Collage
Colorized
Photo
5 Images
using filters
5
additional photographs of your choice
2 Artist
research
You will include the Images in a
ppt with a written explanation-critique of the photograph.
ART GRADING PROCEDURE
It is our belief that a student's progress
will develop best in a safe environment where students can develop a good work
ethic and help each other in a constructive cooperative manner. We encourage
you to participate in your child’s education. If you have any questions

We grade
on a total points possible system. The points are acquired through the
successful assessment of the criteria listed below.
Work
Ethic (Foundations: 50% Intermediate/Advanced: 20%)

Physically
being there: If, for any reason, a student is not present during a class period
they will lose their points. Work can be made-up.
Mentally
being there: Students can be losing up to all of their work ethic points
through violations of the classroom procedures/rules.

Ethic points will be assessed every session and computed every two weeks.)
